Frogs Spawning
Now that the cold weather has passed the ditches by the lakeshore here are teeming with frogs all getting down to business and putting on quite the display as they produce their frogspawn. You have to be stealth-like in your approach as they will dive and hide as soon as they see you. Stealth-like is not something three-year-olds are good at, so you can imagine the approach with twins. But they're quick learners and today we were able to crouch down and watch for quite a whil

No more picnics. No more bilberry picking. No more weeding. There are now well-trodden paths through the

Fretting Grannies
We don't really like the term 'Glamping', I personally prefer 'Boutique Camping' (as we called it in my Electric Picnic days). Whatever term you choose we have decided to set up an eco yurt campsite. We had been pondering an alternative way to earn a crust, one which didn't involve a numbing commute or working to fund someone else's retirement. A Boggy Hill
In August 2014 we spotted a patch of Donegal wilderness available for sale online. The photos showed a rather murky boggy hill, not particularly appealing. It did have two lakes though, the ad’ claimed, which piqued our interest. We had been keeping our eyes open for a spot of land for a business idea and in the absence of any better or affordable places we decided, unenthusiastically, to check it out. It rained non-stop the day we went to view it. The type of depressing day
