Marking Earth Day '24

Join us at Lough Mardal Lodge to mark Earth Day '24.



The South Donegal Nature Network invites you to Lough Mardal Eco Lodge for an afternoon of talks, music, refreshments, and connection with like-minded souls.


Talks and chance to chat include:

12.30 – 13.30: Welcome with a short introduction about Lough Mardal Eco Lodge: Clare/Marcus Tindal. Keith Corcoran will introduce the South Donegal Nature Network followed by opportunity to mix and mingle.

13.30: Planting Trees with volunteers. Roger White of Love Woodland will do a presentation followed by questions.

14.00-14.30 Lisa Mc Daniel, Donegal Community Water Officer from the Local Authorities Water Programme will explore potential for community led environmental projects and community involvement in River/Water based projects and will showcase some local projects.

Followed by opportunity to mix and mingle

15.30

Ronan McNern will do presentation on Shy by Nature followed my questions.

15.50 Margo Gorman will take details of groups who are interested in networking on nature in South Donegal and/or setting up a structure for the network.

16.00 Music

Sinéad is a singer, songwriter and facilitator from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. Her writing has been described as reflective, full of soul and thoughtfulness. She is particularly drawn to covering old time folk and trad songs. Sinéad is currently recording her debut solo album titled ‘four o’clock & moonflower’.


The South Donegal Nature Network aims to make South Donegal a place where humans and nature coexist in harmony. We network with local communities, organisations and businesses (including farmers) on actions on local habitat


Priorities for 2024:

 Planting native woodland and orchards

Awareness of ponds/lakes and rivers running into the sea.
