It was lovely to have Rosanna come to stay last weekened. She has written a wonderful book about saunas, particularly home-made DIY ones, in Ireland but also goes into the history of sauna, or sweathouses as they began in Ireland. Well worth a read if you like your saunas.

I love how this captures the relaxing, restorative feeling of a sauna experience in Donegal. It’s clear that controlling heat and humidity properly makes all the difference for comfort and safety. I’ve realized that managing indoor air quality isn’t just for everyday rooms—it’s vital in high-heat, high-humidity spaces too. Using an air quality monitor can help track humidity levels and airflow, ensuring the sauna stays safe, comfortable, and rejuvenating. That small attention to detail transforms the experience from ordinary to exceptional, and it shows how even simple technology can enhance wellness and make spaces feel perfectly balanced.
