With much regret we are now closed until further notice due to the Covid-19 crisis.
Even though we are in the unique position of being able to offer accommodation where guests can be completely isolated, we do not wish to encourage non-essential travel. With the heroic healthcare workers asking that we all stay at home we have decided that we, like so many other tourist and hospitality businesses, should close.
We are contacting those who have upcoming bookings to reschedule or arrange Gift Vouchers,
please be patient if you haven't heard from us yet.
Please stay safe, stay at home and look after your families and everyone in your community by following the government advice and socially isolating. We are all in this together and only by staying apart can we beat this virus. For those who would like something to look forward and who, at the same time, would like to support small businesses such as ours please consider purchasing a Gift Voucher for a future stay when this has passed and everyone will need a good holiday!
Looking forward to having you here in happier times.

For every well-known tourist hot-spot there are a small handful of alternative accommodation providers, slightly off the beaten track, offering something that little bit different...
"Wow! What an amazing place Lough Mardal is. We had a fantastic stay in the most gorgeous and comfy yurt. Slept like a baby in the peace and quiet. The Lodge is the most magnificent building. We'll be back." Veronica Stringer, Wicklow
"What a joy to wake up, open the door of the yurt and discover such a beautiful landscape in a quiet place. I highly recommend to anyone looking for solitude and calm." Julie, France
"The yurt we stayed in opened out onto a view of the lake and the mountains and coast beyond. Wake up, open the doors and go back into bed and suck in the view." Francis, London
"This place is truly everything we could've wished for - and more! Thank you so much for our stay in your little paradise." Lucia & Sebastian, Germany
A stay at Lough Mardal Lodge is an other-worldly escape from the stresses of the modern world. On a lakeside setting immersed in nature and surrounded by beautiful scenery, each Skydome yurt offers tranquility, comfort and a little taste of bohemian luxury. Bright and spacious, they are also well-spaced to ensure a real sense of seclusion and privacy. Our high-tech yurts are fully-insulated and open all year round, luxuriously furnished with extra warm winter duvets, crisp linen and Donegal woollen blankets. With your warm stove burning, lie in bed staring up at the stars through your clear sky dome.
A unique and beautiful eco building constructed with straw and mud with a grass roof, the communal Lodge is a large amenity & social hub for glamping guests to make themselves at home in. Its striking central space, the Reciprocal Room, with its exposed beams spiralling overhead is a magical spot to kick-back and zone-out, soaking up the panoramic views of the lake, forestry and surrounding landscape. Or make a cup of tea and cosy-up on a sofa around the big fireplace with a good book.
Escape into the Wild
A nature lover's paradise, there are 90 private acres of unspoiled and stunning landscape to roam and explore at Lough Mardal. From the damselfly-populated lake shorelines to precious Atlantic blanket bog (the most celebrated of Ireland's peatlands), wildflower meadows, up to the heather hills 130m above sea level which offer panoramic views of Donegal Bay and the Dartry, Slieve League and Bluestack mountain ranges. Enjoy the silence and serenity of the wide open spaces.
Why choose a five star hotel when you can choose a five billion star one. Sleep under the stars and go glamping with all the comforts of home in a beautiful Skydome Yurt, surrounded by nature with lake, forest and mountain views. A magical experience which will create memories to last a lifetime.
