Our wild landscape, off-grid yurts and strawbale Eco Lodge here in Donegal has just been voted Highly Commended for 'Best Sustainable Wild & Remote Stay' in the Country&Townhouse 'Sustainable Hotel of the Year' 2025 Awards. We are very humbled to stand among Great Britain & Ireland's most sustainable escapes.

It's never dull down by the lake when it comes to wildlife spotting. I t 's usually birds we're watching but at this time of the year the stars are the frogs who all come out of their soggy hideaways to mate...and mate they sure do. Our access track is currently an obstacle course down which you have to be very vigilant not to squish a frog. They criss-cross from the lake to the water logged ditches on the other side where massive jelly blobs of frogspawn accumulate all alon
