Big thanks to our neighbour Mark for the steady hands and serious skill in the ancient craft of hedgelaying...over 300m laid so far in the last few weeks.
The tradition of hedgelaying developed in the 16th century as a way to contain livestock. It involves severing the stems of trees and bending them at an angle, weaving them together so they are intertwined to create a dense living barrier. Lovely to look at and they also provide a wildlife corridor for birds, animals and pollintors. Always a good thing.
