It's been a very icy start to 2026 which brings its challanges to this remote neck of the woods. The hilly boreens that lead to us are white-knuckle rides, the wood-burning stoves need topping up 24/7...and, well that's actually it really. It was lovely to have Rosanna come to stay last weekened. She has written a wonderful book about saunas, particularly home-made DIY ones, in Ireland but also goes into the history of sauna, or sweathouses as they began in Ireland. Well worth a read if you like your saunas.
