Frogs are Busy

It's never dull down by the lake when it comes to wildlife spotting. It's usually birds we're watching but at this time of the year the stars are the frogs who all come out of their soggy hideaways to mate...and mate they sure do. Our access track is currently an obstacle course down which you have to be very vigilant not to squish a frog. They criss-cross from the lake to the water logged ditches on the other side where massive jelly blobs of frogspawn accumulate all along the side of the track. Hopefully they have accumulated enough to compensate for the crows, blackbirds, magpies, starlings, ducks and herons who are swooping down and gorging on it now. Poor frogs #cyclesofnature
